In honor of the 20th anniversary of HemisFair ’68 city leaders opted to renovate the fairgrounds now showing it’s age due to neglect. The renovation converted the layout of the grounds from a Fair style to the more open park visitors see today. Also included were new water features located at the base of the Tower of the Americas. To complete the renovation the site was rededicated as HemisFair Park.
Another part of the 20th anniversary was the installation of a 1/2 circle plaque honoring everyone involved with the project.

As part of the 20th anniversary celebration of HemisFair ’68, San Antonio’s local ABC station KSAT 12 aired a thirty minute special about the Fair. Several HemisFair staff members and local leaders were interviewed sharing their memories of the Fair.
In September of 2007 You Tube member “SanAntonioNews78” posted the tv special in three parts, below are links to the videos for your enjoyment.
