MIlton Babbit

Architect – SAF’s Architecture & Planning Office (1965)

In November of 2024 I had the pleasure of meeting with Mr. Babbit to hear some of his memories of working first for San Antonio Fair, Inc. and then with local architecture firm O’Neal Ford & Associates (now Ford, Powel  Carson).  Below is a transcript of my conversation with Mr. Babbit.

Did you visit the Fair once it opened April of 68″?

My wife and I did visit the Fair a handful of times which was easy as we lived only a few blocks away in what is now known as the King William District just south of the site. During the 180 day run of the Fair we could hear the sounds of HemisFair 68′ every time we opened our front door.

Were there any Pavilions or Venues you enjoyed?
