Richard Glass

I was in the US Navy at the time of HemisFair but returned on leave to my home town of Austin, Texas and made a visit to HemisFair while home. During my visit I remember enjoying the exhibits, particularly the skills of the performers in the ski show near the Tower and the fantastic costumes and production of the Indian ceremony at the Pepsi Cola Pavilion. The sacrifice of the Indian maiden was particularly dramatic, as the priest plunged the knife into her naked breast. That was very realistic, and I and the whole crowd gasped.  I also remember it being pretty hot as it was near the end of August when I attended, so people tried to stay in the shade as much as possible, though there was not a lot of that.
