Pearl Brewing Co.

Architect: Peter Wolf Assoc., Inc. – Dallas, TX

“The romantic charm of the gas light era of old San Antonio comes to life once more in the graceful stucco exhibit and refreshment building built for the Pearl Brewing Company” (HemisFair Guidebook, 1968).

This pavilion consisted of two buildings the main building built for the fair and a smaller existing building remolded for the fair as an adjoining retail space for Pearl’s subsidiary, Judson Candies, Inc. The overall design of the main building was that of a turn of the century entertainment venue and featured: an exhibit, dinning, a bar and entertainment space for period style performances. Visitors also had a grand view from the rear patios of the waterway and the performances Flying Indians just beyond.

The guide book also comments on the pavilion and adjoining shop was to be donated to the U.S.O. of San Antonio
