“the pavilion of Panama symbolically emphasizes the importance of that country’s historic role as the “Bridge of the Americas”. Featured in the pavilion is a working scale model of the Panama Canal as well as a retail shop where items of an authentic local color are sold”. (HemisFair Guidebook, 1968)
This pavilion was split into two primary sections the first telling the story of the history of the land starting with the first European explorers and the second explores Panama’s present and future as a developing nation.
