“In theme, the pavilion emphasizes the importance to the world of Spain’s 15th Century venture across oceans to the new world. It highlights the lasting influence Spanish cultural patterns have had on life in the Americas and, in fact, demonstrates the confluence of cultures theme of Hemisfair ’68 itself.” (HemisFair Guidebook, 1968)
