The plans for the extension provided space between the new river marina and Bowie Street for a new multi-level parking structure to support the convention center complex.  Built during the 6 month run of HemisFair the garage featured a fully functional heliport above the top parking level (now closed)

The garage is still in service today and is still named the Marina Parking Garage.
