“The Federation of Swiss Watchmakers jointly with Ebauches, S.A., provided the atomic clock that gives accurate, official time for Hemisfair ’68. The atomic clock, technically identified as the Oscillatom, represents one of the most modern developments in contemporary timekeeping”. (HemisFair Guidebook, 1968)
Located in the Swiss Time Center, the Oscillation controlled approximately 50 clocks through the fairgrounds.

As part of San Antonio’s overall 300th anniversary celebrations (SA300), local auction house: Vogt Auction worked on amassing a large auction of items from San Antonio history including HemisFair 68′.
As an avid collector & historian on HemisFair 68′ I spent the whole evening at the auction house feeling like a kid in a candy store and wanted to bid on everything, LOL. Included in the auction was one of the original time clocks from the Fair.
Below are some images of the original time clock included in the auction & one with my friend – Rob Vogt (Click on image for a closer look)
